Why the photo matters more than anything else
The photo is the reference for every detail: the shape of the face, the eyes, the ear position and the coat pattern. A clear photo gives the portrait the information it needs to read as your pet.
What makes a good pet photo?
Do:
- Shoot in natural daylight, near a window or outdoors.
- Get close and stay at your pet's eye level.
- Keep the face sharp and in focus.
- Keep the eyes, nose and key markings visible.
Avoid:
- Dark or backlit shots.
- Blurry or motion photos.
- Heavy filters or beauty effects.
- Extreme angles, from far above or far below.
- Faces partly hidden by toys, hands or shadows.
Can I use a phone photo?
Yes. A recent phone photo taken in good daylight is usually enough. Focus and lighting matter more than resolution, so a sharp phone photo often beats a larger file that is out of focus.
Frequently asked questions
What photo works best for pet embroidery?
A clear, well-lit close-up of your pet's face at eye level, in sharp focus, with the markings visible.
Can I include more than one pet?
Yes. Send a clear individual photo of each pet, and we can combine them into one design.
What if my only photo is not great?
Send it anyway. We review it at the preview stage and tell you if a clearer photo would help, before anything is stitched.
